Hey, I'm Linzi!

I’m here to help you transform your life after separation or divorce.

My coaching journey started from my own personal experience of divorce when I discovered that although there was plenty of advice out there on the practicalities of divorce...what to ask your lawyer, what forms to complete to get divorced etc there was nothing out there to support you through the emotional rollercoaster you suddenly find yourself on!

So, I decided to put my psychology degree and counselling qualifications to good use and create the support system I wished I had. And that’s how Dazzle After Divorce was born! Here's where you'll find your toolkit for emotional healing and building the future you desire and deserve. 💛

My Story

I was married for 16 years when my husband decided to leave. At the time, I had no savings, no career prospects and no hope.

What I did have was a ton of fear, debt and heartbreak, and no idea how I would support myself or my children. I was a stay-at-home mum for 14 years, without my name even being on the mortgage.

Yikes right?

I was utterly heartbroken, terrified and completely overwhelmed.  I struggled with having to manage all the very different reactions, emotions and advice from friends and family.  There was no room in my brain to work through the major life decisions that had to be made very quickly whilst being in a highly emotive state, never mind room to recognize, understand and process my feelings.  I was on a really scary, really fast emotional rollercoaster.

I was grieving for my entire life.  The past felt like it had all been a lie and I would look back on old photographs thinking “Did he love me when that was taken or was he just going through the motions?”

I was obsessed with finding “The Moment”.  The moment it all went wrong.  The moment his feelings changed. The moment he knew. The moment he decided.  The moment he switched off.  Happy memories had been tarnished with doubts and I questioned every time I thought we had been happy.

I had also lost the future I had envisioned with my husband….us dancing together at our kids’ weddings, travelling when he retired, doting on our grandkids.

It felt like both my past and my future had been viciously snatched away from me and I spent a good lot of time grieving for them.

I went through every stage of grief imaginable.  Denial, anger, frustration, bargaining, guilt, depression, resentment.  I yo-yoed back and forth between them, sometimes feeling them all in the space of an hour!

And that’s OK.  It’s necessary.  It’s natural. And it’s being human.

The danger isn’t in feeling these.  In fact, feeling these is part of the healing process.  The danger is when you stay stuck in them. I realised that if I was questioning my past and the future I had envisioned was gone, all I had left was the present.  And I had to make the most of it.

So I faced my fears, tackled my financial issues, and worked tirelessly to rebuild my life. Through this process, I discovered my passion for coaching and empowerment. I realised that while there was plenty of advice on the practical and legal aspects of divorce, there was a significant gap in support for mental and emotional well-being. At that moment I knew in my heart how I could make magic from my mess. How good could come from my awful situation. How I could show my children that when life breaks your heart, you can pick up the pieces and make something new and sometimes something even better from them.

That’s why I started this coaching business – to provide the support I wish I had during my own journey.
